We never compromise on quality. We take responsibility for our work by having full control of the supply chain. We guarantee the product fulfills your requirements and specifications.

The table below compares the difference between  WPC(Wood Plastic Composite)  and  PS Plastic Wood.

WPC  VS  PS Plastic Wood

Item

Wood-Plastic Composite

PS Plastic Wood

Material

HDPE

PP

PVC

PS (Polystyrene)

Density of fresh material

0.95 /cm3

0.9 /cm3

1.3 /cm3

1.05 /cm3

Density

1.3 ~1.4/cm3

0.65-0.7/cm3   (Similar to natural wood, but lightweight.)

Physical properties analysis

Lower strength and stiffness. Contain a lot of CaCO3 powder(40~80%), wood fiber, hull, some natural fibers, etc. Therefore, the density is extremely high and is around 1.3~1.4.

Use PS, the most rigid of the general-purpose plastics, and the texture is closest to the wood.

Made from 100% virgin plastic resin with some additives, such as anti-aging formula and UV stabilizers.

External

It's processed twice, so the texture becomes shallow and it's easy to be worn away. Look and feel like plastic.

Realistic 3D wooden texture on all 4 sides, and obvious wood grain

Water absorption rate

3-10%

Lower than 0.6 %
Water will evaporate naturally.

Wet environments

Rot, mildew, crack, splinter, etc.

Waterproof, mildew-proofing, moth-proofing and won’t warp, crack, splinter, etc.

Advantages

Cheaper due to its wood fiber /CaCO3 powder and thermoplastics in the mix.
Wood fiber: about US$ 90 per ton
CaCO3 powder: about US$ 75 per ton

It made from 100% PS features a zero-sheen, realistic 3D wooden texture on all 4 sides, and is 100% recyclable due to its pure material.

Defects

The product is heavy due to its wood fiber/CaCO3 powder in the mix. It's easy to rot, mildew, crack, splinter, warp and the color fades easily. Short lifespan.

It made from 100% virgin plastic resin without wood fiber. As the cost is high, the selling price is expensive.

Common problems

It's worn away easily due to its shallow texture. High water absorption rate, and it's easy to rot, mildew, crack, splinter, warp, etc.

It's normal that the boards will expand or contract during big temperature difference. But it won’t happen if you have the proper design and construction.

Maintenance

Short lifespan and no specific ways to maintain it

It's maintenance-free if you build it properly.

Influence

It's not recyclable due to its complicated ingredients

100% recyclable
It's environmentally friendly

Conclusion

Generally speaking, after 1-2 years, it will start to rot, mildew, crack, splinter or warp, etc.

It made from 100% virgin plastic resin.
It is widely used in any environments, especially in wet environments, such as beach or lake, etc.
